Our Story
We are building our story one book at a time.
Once a kindergarten teacher, I had amassed a huge collection of children’s books. My first year out of the classroom, during a special Halloween event we frequent, I decided to give out books instead of candy.
My husband told me we’d get egged, but instead, we were one of the most popular stops. We’ve been giving books out for Halloween for five years now, and a line forms down the block every time! We call it “The parade of I told you so's.”
That experience showed us that kids do still want books, and encouraged this dream of mine to do something to keep that love alive. We want to make book shopping accessible and exciting. We want kids to look forward to seeing us around in the community. We want The Mini Book Truck to be a core memory for them.
